4 Refreshing Spa Treatments You Can Do At Home

Posted on: 12 April 2016

There's nothing quite so relaxing as a day at the spa. There is no better way to feel completely refreshed and totally rejuvenated than a day spent with manicures and massages, spa baths and face masks. If you can't make it to the spa for your weekly treatments, there are a number of spa treatments you can do at home.

Hair Moisture and Shine

Peel back and entire avocado and grab 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Mash the 2 together, making sure that they form a nice admixture that will be ready to apply to your hair. Section off your hair so that it can be "painted" and rub the combination onto your hair and massage your scalp with it for a bit. Next, with the mixture still in your hair, place a shower cap over your head with hot water inside of it so it can really allow the it to soak into your hair and head. Let it sit for approximately 30 minutes, then wash it out with another blast of warm water. Comb out the last bit of avocado and voila! Instant moisture and shine.

DIY Facial

A facial is another easy process that you can readily do at home. Just grab a banana and some honey, then create an admixture of the two. Make sure to clean your face off before you apply the mixture, then, after applying it, let it sit for anywhere from 10 to 15 minutes. There are other options besides banana and honey, although these two combinations tend to work for a person with any skin type, whether it be dry, oily or a combination of the two. Other popular forms of DIY masks are Greek yogurt and honey or strawberry mixed with oatmeal.

Bath Soak

A milk bath, made by using coconut milk, whole milk, olive oil and a small bit of vanilla extract, can do wonders for rejuvenating your skin and making sure that you feel incredible afterwards. It is recommended that you use 2 to 3 cups of the types of milk and only a small bit of vanilla extra – 1 tablespoon should be adequate. Run a warm bath and mix in the ingredients as the bathtub is filling up. Sit back, relax and allow your skin to soak up these incredible ingredients. You'll feel like a new person afterwards.

Although it is great to treat yourself by going to a local spa, spending a day at the spa sometimes doesn't even require that you leave home. Hopefully, this advice has given you some ideas of how you want to spend your next spa day.

A New Summer Style

A couple of months ago, my beautiful, intelligent, and talented sister married her best friend in a simple, church ceremony. On this special day, a hair stylist curled my hair and pinned it on top of my head. Because I normally keep my hair short, I had to grow it out for a few months before the wedding in order to achieve the look I wanted. Now that the wedding is over, my long hair is starting to aggravate me. Due to the summer heat and humidity, it is beginning to break off and look frizzy! I am in desperate need of a new summer style. On this blog, you will discover the best types of haircuts for the steamy, summer months. Enjoy your new look!
